Avery Presbyterian Church reaches out in Jesus' Name to our community and world through the following programs:


Financial Support

Art & Sue Kinsler, Korea

Art and Sue Kinsler are mission co-workers in Korea. Art is been involved with evangelism with the Presbyterian Church of Korea.  Art’s work includes church planting, and teaching. Sue works with physically and mentally challenged adults and needy people in Northeast China.


Rev. John & Gwen Haspels, Ethiopia

Gwen is a nurse and works through Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), and John works with a multi-phase project that includes church development and evangelism.


Camp Calvin Crest

Calvin Crest Camp, Conference and Retreat Center is a mission of Heartland Presbytery and the Presbytery of Missouri River Valley.

New Church Development

This program provides funds for new churches in the Central U.S.

Native American Ministries

Supports ministry among Native American churches in Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota.

Sudanese Fellowship, Omaha

Aid to a congregation of Sudanese Presbyterian immigrants in the Omaha area who meet at the former Clifton Hill Church.

Hispanic Ministry, Omaha

An outreach to Hispanic community of South Omaha through Castelar Presbyterian Church.

Theological Education Fund

Provides scholarship aid to students at Presbyterian Church U.S.A. Seminaries.

Bill and Missy Kollar, Campus Crusade for Christ, Lincoln, NE

The focus of Campus Crusade is to teach university students how to have a personal relationship with Jesus.   Bill and Missy live in Lincoln NE and are assigned to the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.


Clint and Amie Bokelman, Adventures in Missions

AIM’s focus is on arranging mission trips for young adults all over the world.   Clint and Amie are former members of our congregation, and Clint formerly served as our youth director.


Wayne & Miyako Meyer, Navigators, Japan

Wayne is a member of the National Leadership Team of Navigators in Japan.

Alden and Virginia Barrows, Fellowship International Mission, Brazil

Alden trains pastors in Brazil.

Child Evangelism Fellowship

Conducts neighborhood Bible clubs and regional camps to help spread the good news of Jesus to children and train youth and adults for leadership positions

Good News Jail and Prison Ministry

Provides spiritually mature men and women to serve as Christian Chaplains in the Sarpy and Douglas county jails.

Royal Family Kids’ Camp

A Christian camp in Nebraska for abused and neglected children.

Water for Life, Haiti

Water for Life is devoted to providing wells for clean and safe water for the people of Haiti.

Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation

Provides scholarships for seminary students and lifelong training opportunities for pastors.


Financial Support & Gifts

Samaritans Purse

Operation Christmas Child is a mission project sponsored by Samaritan's Purse.  Shoe boxes full of gifts are distributed all over the world to needy children at Christmas time.  This year we also sent funds to Samaritan’s purse to help with relief in Haiti.

Bellevue Food Pantry

The Bellevue Food provides for emergency food needs in the Bellevue area.  Avery provides financial support and volunteers who stock shelves, pack groceries and deliver them to distribution points.

Abide Ministries

Abide Network, founded by Ron Dotzler, works to develop leaders in the churches of North Omaha and build bridges between black, white and Hispanic Christians.

Bellevue Ministerial Association

The BMA has an emergency fund to meet emergency needs of families and individuals.

Open Door Mission

The Open Door Ministries in Omaha work to rescue the homeless, reform broken lives and restore individuals and families to independent living.  The New Life Program teaches Christian discipleship and recovery programs to help residents manage their own lives successfully. 

SHARE

A program that provides tote bags with blankets and comfort items to chemotherapy patients.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army’s mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name, without discrimination.  They have a shelter in Omaha, many recovery programs, and they reach people all over the world with their ministries.  We support them with monetary contributions and by ringing the bells in December.

Safe Haven

Safe Haven is a Bellevue area shelter for abused women and children
